Tehran, Dec.18 (SENA) - Head of the Iranian association of palm tree farmers says that pursuant to negotiations carried out between the palm tree farmers and Iran's Mercantile Exchange, dates harvest will be offered at IME very soon.

According to the Securities and Exchange News Agency report, Mohsen Farrokhi told the reporters that trading the palm tree fruit "dates" at Iran's Mercantile Exchange is indeed an uplifting development for the farmers since everybody will enjoy fair pricing and transparent transaction platform provided by IME.

Southern half of Iran is so suitable for palm tree cultivation due to abundant fertile lands and water resources thus there is tremendous potentials to expand farmland and boost Iranian dates produce which interestingly happens to be one the most genuine and delicious types of dates produce across the region, he added.

“The most challenging issue in the dates market is exportation. If the infrastructures are provided for exportation then the true value of Iranian dates will be revealed to foreign consumers. SENA quoted Farrokhi as saying.
