Tehran, Sep. 13 (SENA) - An Iranian MP says that national Pistachio market is desperately in need of a reliable platform like that of Iran’s Mercantile Exchange to regulate the market.

According to Securities and Exchange News Agency report, Ahmad Anaraki Mohammadi, who represents central city of Rafsanjan told reporters that Pistachio is a strategic product of Iran and is being exported to more than 95 foreign countries all across the globe.

IME is phenomenal, he added, to pave the way for more smooth export procedure for Iranian Pistachio and I hope very soon the infrastructure needed for trading it is provided at IME.

It is noteworthy, in 2017; world production of pistachios was 1.1 million tons, with Iran and the United States as leading producers, together accounting for 75% of the total production. Secondary producers were China, Turkey and Syria.
